Federal authorities have temporarily paused entry to the whale shark park due to prior winds that caused plankton to sink from the surface waters. The whale sharks followed the plankton to feed below the surface where it is not legal to swim with them. There are plenty of whale sharks in the general area, and many are now back feeding at the surface.
Baja Charters chartered a plane and videoed the surface proving there are now whale sharks feeding at the surface again within the park. Regulators should have reopened, but federal staff have been slow to react. They keep indicating the park will be reopened soon. What that means is hard to determine. Probably within the next few days.
If the park is not open when you are scheduled to go out, and you cannot reschedule easily, then in accordance with our Booking & Terms we will provide you with two activities for the price of one as follows.
1 - We provide a Sea Lions and Remote Beaches activity the day you are scheduled, (www.BajaRemoteBeaches.com), AND
